Hancock Chamber Business Expo Features $1000 Cash Give-Away and Lazy Magnolia Beer Tasting

At the Hancock Chamber Business Expo there is more than just 60 area businesses on tap.  This year the annual event features a $1,000 cash give-away and a chance to name your favorite Lazy Magnolia Brew during a German style “craft beer tasting” inside the Expo.

The event, set for Thursday, September 30 starts at 4pm and will run until 7pm at the MS Army Readiness Center on Kiln DeLisle Road next to the Hancock County Equine Facility.  The public is invited to attend and join in the festivities.

When you enter the Expo, there will be a $3 donation.  Upon entrance, you will receive a card inviting you to get your card stamped at ten hot spots inside the Expo.  The ten businesses featured this year include:  Accelerated Physical Therapy & Occupational Health, CJ’s Meat Market, Coastal Hardware & Rental Co., Diamondhead Country Club, Edmond Fahey Funeral Home, First National Merchant Solutions, Gulfside Association, Hancock Medical Center, Keesler Federal Credit Union, and the Library Foundation of Hancock County.  After you visit each of the ten prime spots, you can enter the $1,000 cash give-away.  The drawing will be at 7pm.  Last year, Dave Walker of Habitat for Humanity Bay-Waveland Area walked away as the $1,000 winner.

During the 10th anniversary event, you may also decide to participate in the Lazy Magnolia “Craft Beer Tasting”.  For a $10 donation, you are entitled to free entrance to the Expo, one sample of each of the five featured Lazy Magnolia Craft beers, entrance to the “Beer 101” session at 5:30pm, and one souvenir beer stein.

If you wish to participate in the People’s Choice Contest to name your favorite featured craft beer, Hancock Bank will offer you the opportunity to exchange cash for pennies to cast your votes.  Featured beers include:  Southern Pecan (the original pecan nut brown ale), Indian Summer (spiced wheat ale), Reb Ale (deep South pale ale), Jefferson Stout (sweet potato cream stout) and Southern Gold (honey ale).  The beer that receives the largest number of pennies will be named the winner of the People’s Choice Award.  The mission of this feature of the Expo is to showcase Mississippi’s first and only brewery located in Hancock County;  and, to educate the public in beer appreciation and quality.   Entertainment during the event features the Oompah-Pah Sounds of Jubilee Julie on the accordion, creating a German beer hall atmosphere.
